Lowdown on Randy

Randy wasn't being used properly as a Viking, They were using him as a decoy and a slot reciever. Too many times they used someone else as a deep threat.
The Vikings as, Frankie Fowler so aptly put it in a recent post and comment sesson, Sorely missed Kliensasser this past season. It'll take less to replace Randy in my estimation as they were using him as an out rather than the number one threat. He was effective but the Vikings weren't as effective this way.
If they'd use him as a deep threat that opens up the short game rather than using him in the short game and opening up the deep threat for Burleson or Kelly.
Yes Frankie you're probably right when you say that his absense will give us much needed cap and salary room.

  • I wonder if Moss's back problems weren't the reason that they didn't use him as much on deep routes. They might've been covering that up before his hamstring injury. I could see how that would limit his effectiveness.

  • Well, I guess that is where we disagree. I am an Oakland Raiders fan now. I gave up on the Vikings. Now you can see what an ordinary Quarterback Culpepper really is. He was a hero the last few years because he had some really talented help. Now he is on his own, he's not too hot. A really great quarterback, like Brett Favre does great without any help, like Monday night against Carolina.

  • You know, the Vikings have the same record as the Raiders. The problems they have now are mostly with the offensive line. The defense would be okay if they didn't have to be on the field so much.
